This policy explains how wiCreate Media Tech (“Winza”) uses cookies and similar technologies on winza.cc, in the Winza application, and in campaigns published through our platform. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more broadly.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies let a site remember your actions and preferences between pages and visits. We also use related technologies that behave similarly: local storage and session storage, pixels and tracking beacons in emails, and software development kits inside embedded content. Throughout this policy, “cookies” covers all of them.
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser; persistent cookies remain until they expire or you clear them.
- First-party cookies are set by the site you are visiting; third-party cookies are set by another provider, such as an analytics vendor.
The categories we use
Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the site cannot function without them. Every other category loads only after you consent through our cookie banner.
| Category | What it does | Consent required |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Authentication, session integrity, security, load balancing, and remembering your cookie choice | No - required for the service |
| Functional | Remembers preferences such as language, theme, and dismissed notices | Yes |
| Analytics | Aggregated, privacy-respecting measurement of page views, referrers, and feature usage | Yes |
| Marketing | Measures campaign effectiveness and supports remarketing on advertising platforms | Yes |

Cookie names and lifetimes set by third parties can change without notice. We review this table quarterly, and the live inventory in our consent tool is always the authoritative record.
Cookies in published campaigns
When you play a campaign built on Winza, we set a small number of first-party cookies on the campaign microsite - for example to enforce one entry per player per day, to prevent fraudulent or automated entries, and to keep your progress if you refresh the page. These are strictly necessary for the promotion to run fairly.
The brand running the campaign is the data controller for that campaign. If it adds its own analytics or advertising tags, those are governed by that brand’s cookie and privacy policies, which are linked from the campaign itself. As a Winza customer, you are responsible for disclosing and obtaining consent for any tags you add.
How to manage your choices
- Use the cookie banner on your first visit, or reopen the preferences panel from the link in our website footer at any time - changes take effect immediately.
- Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
- Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in and other core features.
- We honour Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser as an opt-out of non-essential cookies.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using Google's browser add-on, and manage advertising preferences through the Digital Advertising Alliance and European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out pages.
Browser instructions are available for Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.
Legal basis and data transfers
We rely on your consent for functional, analytics, and marketing cookies, and on our legitimate interest in operating a secure, working website for strictly necessary cookies. Some third-party providers listed above process data outside the EEA; those transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, as described in our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when we add, remove, or change the cookies we use. The date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision; material changes are also surfaced through the cookie banner so you can review your preferences.
